When Divinity Encounters Human Suffering + Mental Illness as a Christian | Gabby Wilkinson

Gabby Wilkinson is a seminary student who has been working in ministry since 2014. At Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, Gabby is studying the intersectionality of mental illness and Christianity through the lens of church trauma and is working to make this area of focus the driving force of her vocation. She recently started a brand that was birthed out of this study called “Dear God, I’m Sad.” The mission of “Dear God, I’m Sad” is to craft a healthier & more holistic relationship between mental illness & Christianity through reflection, investigation, & exploration with the hopes of destigmatizing mental illness in faith spaces & promoting compassionate responses to mental illness by faith leaders. Gabby shares her own experiences finding hope through the ups and downs of mental illness, and how we can find freedom in healing too!
